Oldfool, wondering about that is what started my old age decline---I had not realized until Bush just how many incredibly STUPID people were out there.
Even when I was still working in higher education, I was regularly stunned by all the disinformation, misinformation, and just plain ol' ignorance that was revealed in conversations with my supposedly well-educated peers. Scary it was, and I'm not afraid of the dark!
