I figure there must be some sort of Original Sin back there which explains the decline of the once-mighty armadillo.
What about the decline of the once mighty Hummer?
I'd stick with the Original Sin theory: the Hummer was born out of the First Gulf War.
I think the Armadillo is more attractive.
