"According to Bill O'Liely, there are three reasons why I have never been raped: first, I'm a teetotaler; second, my midriff isn't bare; third, I wear a veil. Charlie Chan say: 'O'Liely full of smelly brown stuff and sounds like bell: DUNG'!"
Cheers mate for bringing back long forgotten memories. Charlie Chan was my childhood hero. Like the girl one has a crush on in 3rd grade, but then one is moved to a different school and totally forgets about her. Thanx for rekindling my affection :) I've added a Charlie Chan DVD collection to my birthday wish list.
Oh CHARLIE! We watch all the movies when the come on TV which they do regularly (and I haven't forgotten Mr. Moto) but have not had the infinite pleasure of meeting Mr. Wong.
Mr. Wong was played by--get this!--Boris Karloff of all people. It's a cultural oddity that Oriental heroes were so popular in America in the 1930s and 1940s. Mr. Moto, of course, disappeared after Pearl Harbor, and Kato, the Green Hornet's sidekick, morphed from Japanese to Filipino.

I own all the extant Charlie Chan movies. And don't forget Mr. Moto and Mr. Wong!
