"The secret of Bachmann's success," Matt
Taibbi writes, "is that every time you laugh
at her, she gets stronger."  Have we already
forgotten what happened back in the 1950s,
when people laughed at Nancy Archer?

Back from seeing my grandkids, now to catch up with you.

This one made me laugh because I was a little girl when I saw this movie and for some reason it scared me half to death! (It's a family joke now)

Welcome back, Betsy! I'm writing this in Grand Haven, Michigan. Yes, another music festival is in the offing, starting tomorrow.

I saw virtually all of the 50s sci-fi flicks when they were first run. I especially liked movies featuring giants--humans, ants, spiders, mantises, etc.
