What will prevent school shootings, like the one today
in Connecticut, from being repeated throughout the 
United States over and over and over, ad infinitum?

Too much like climate change. Too far gone to get it back. Sad but pretty much the reality for both the way I see things.

Roseann still believes something might be done on the gun front. But, I'm like you on this and the climate issue: pretty pessimistic.
