Michael Gerson wants to save the Republican Party by
adopting the ideas of Edmund Burke (1729-1797),
William Wilberforce (1759-1833), and Lord Shaftesbury
(1801-1885). Have the guys with good Republican
ideas all been dead for over 100 years? What about
the ideas of George Walker Bush, who Michael
worked for as chief speechwriter and senior policy
advisor from 2001-2006?
