They really did try to sell us some crap when we were kids. Is that the mini-sub from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" on his head?

As a child, I would have loved to have had this rig. As to its provenance, it looks more like something from Captain Video or Rocky Jones, Space Ranger.
