Paleoanthropologists now believe that Neanderthals,
with two exceptions, became extinct 40,000 years ago,
having been crowded out by the Cro-Magnons.  Those
two exceptions were the prehistoric ancestors of Dan 
Foster, news editor of National Review Online.
