Guys like this don't like Romney; they just hate Obama. I was never a racist. I was taught from childhood that racial discrimination was wrong. But I always went to public schools which were strictly segregated. I have witnessed first-hand the intense hatred some Southern whites have for both Latinos and African-Americans. It's real, it's ugly, and it won't disappear in my lifetime.
I can remember as a teen thinking, the only thing that will solve this is when we are all so intermingled (by marriage or other forms of living) that you can't say, "I'm more white/black than you."
BTW, I'm white, 81 and a liberal all my life. There's nothing wrong with that.
Years ago, I came across a Life magazine article in which Arnold Toynbee was asked what he thought the solution to black/white racial division was total racial intermarriage.
