No. Mike Kinsley was never exposed to Bill Buckley. Buckley's show was on public television and was called Firing Line. Kinsley's was CNN's Crossfire from 1989-1995. That's what ruined Kinsley, who might have become a public intellectual with the influence of someone like Walter Lippmann.

I thought he was the moderator of Buckleys debates. I watched a few of them myself. Guess I was wrong. Who was that?

Buckley was the host of Firing Line from 1966-1999. His guests would discuss/debate with him the issues of the day.
