And now, for something completely different...
we hope.

Like you Fearguth I am old enough to clearly remember fountains and bathrooms marked "Colored only". For me this is a defining moment and I am sorrowful that Obama's Grandmother and Molly Ivins missed it, and overjoyed that Ted Kennedy did not!

Hi Betsy!

In my graduating class (1960), there were no African-Americans, no Mexican-Americans, no Asian-Americans, no Native Americans. I was fortunate, however, to have parents who always taught me that racial discrimination was wrong. Although my mother graduated from high school (in Oklahoma), my father dropped out of school after flunking the sixth grade a couple of times.

Well done, America. After eight years, you've got it right.

The whole world is celebrating with and for you.

Anonymous,

Tell me about it! I'm a native Texan. Maybe some day my state will be redeemed from inflicting two Bushes on the world.
