The first time Lindsey ran for his SC Senate seat he had a ad sent to every registered voter titled "Family Values." On the cover was Lindsey, a smiling woman about his age who apparently was his wife and two small children. The copy had the usual GOP family value stuff about opposing abortion, allowing school choice, cutting taxes etc.
The picture was not a lie- that was Lindsey and his family. It just didn't point out that the woman was his sister, the kids his niece and nephew, and the Dad was standing over with the camera man.
He has never been seen in public with a female date. For that matter, neither has SC's other Senator, Tim Scott.
The SC Dem Party has never used his sexual orientation against him, but this year may be different.
