leaders around the world  have either (1) never heard of 
Anne Applebaum or (2) don't give a shit what she thinks.

What if you were Anne Applebaum and for the umpteenth
year, you didn't win a Nobel Peace Prize --- but Barack Obama
did? What would you do? Why, you'd write a column for Slate
entitled, "It's Time to Stop Taking the Peace Prize Seriously."
And then you'd keep your fingers crossed for next year.
