Americans now own 300 million guns. If more guns are
the solution to the problem of mass shootings, how
many more guns will Americans need to own---50 million,
100 million, 200 million---before the problem is solved?

According to Wayne LaPierre, there is no upper limit on the number of guns you need (to buy).
For the guy arrested in Indiana, 47 guns and $100,000 in ammo was probably not enough.
But somewhere there is a happy gun dealer.
According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, in 2012, 209,750 Americans are employed in the firearms and ammunition industries. There are MANY happy gun dealers.
