When Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, 

there were approximately 3.8 million Native 

Americans living in what would later become

the United States and Canada.  Someone needs

to tell Rick Santorum to read a little history.

We mourn today the discovery of the 

District of Columbia.

Christopher Columbus's first words when he reached

land in the New World were "Buona festa di Cristoforo 

Colombo" (Happy Columbus Day!).

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan raised

 eyebrows earlier this month by declaring 

that Muslims had discovered the Americas 

before Christopher Columbus and had 

settled in Utah, where men are more

equal than women and cops kill more

people than drug dealers, child abusers,

and gangbangers.
