David Denby, a very tony movie critic, has written
an entire book whose thesis is: Snark is mean, it's
personal, and it's ruining our conversation. Has
it ever occurred to Mr. Denby that the reason
snark was invented in the first place was
because nobody wanted to converse with
pompous old snobs like him anymore?
