the Senate, is only an octagenarian.

This little Inhofe piggy went to market,
This little Cochran piggy stayed home,
This little McConnell piggy had roast beef,
This little Inouye piggy had none.
And this little Bond piggy went ...

In a move obviously designed to placate younger Democrats,

Senator Robert Byrd (D-VA), age 90, will shuffle aside to allow

Daniel Inouye (D-HI), age 84, to take over the reins
of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
