 That's why the First Amendment prohibits government

from abridging the freedom of the press.

And having said that, Pope Francis warned,

When racist comments in his old newsletters came back to

haunt him, Ron Paul realized that just because you have

freedom of the press doesn't mean you necessarily

have to exercise it foolishly.

It's not 'No Comment', Jack;  it's 'No Questions'.  Freedom

of the Press to these despots-to-be means:  we speak, the

press, which exists only as a megaphone, transcribes what we

speak, and the people listen respectfully and obediently. 

'Questions', these authoritarians will tell you, are

unconstitutional, not found in their Bill of Rights. 

Governor Palin says the media are endangering her

First Amendment rights by criticizing her for negative

campaigning. She apparently doesn't understand that

the First Amendment wasn't added to the Constitution

to protect politicians from the press. It was added to

protect the press from politicians.
